Kids Corner: On the Farm

Yesterday, for our K-12 program, Kids Corner the theme was “On the Farm”. Kids Corner is a series of themed parties run at Carnegie Library of Homestead every Thursday from 6-7 (soon to be 5:30-7).

For this weeks theme, I set up 3 activities in addition to pulling books for the theme:

The first and foremost activity that we presented was comparing warm weather crops and cool weather crops.

And we did 2 crafts! The first craft was based off of this template from Lia Griffith: Handcraft Your Life.

For the final activity, we all created 2D barns out of Popsicle sticks and painted them. Some people decided to decorate them with the non edible parts of the food!
