Developing Subjects for the Introduction to Arts and Sciences Class

This week at Hillman, I focused on some of the background tasks to help Marnie prepare for her upcoming IAS class, and my own Advanced Mendeley Class. I also added additional information to our Advanced Research Tools Libguide

Developing subjects for IAS class

For the IAS class, there will be75 students who need to learn the basics of finding books and articles here at Hillman Library. I worked to create 75 individual research topics to find an appropriate book on shelf at Hillman, and then a subset research topic to find a related peer reviewed journal article through PittCat+.

To do this, I had to come up with topics and subtopics, and be sure that with logical keywords they could find both an article and a subarticle. For example,

Book: History of Science

Article: History of Physics

I researched and found about 35 of these this week.
